“Storytime at Judith’s Reading Room,” an early childhood literacy initiative, encourages the love of reading for children and their parents.

Storytime at Judith’s Reading Room,” an early childhood literacy initiative, encourages the love of reading for children and their parents. Thanks to the outstanding contribution of Storytellers last year, we are poised to more than double the program’s reach and impact during the 2012-2013 school year:

  • We have been invited back for the 2nd year at Donegan Elementary School, where last year 55 “Storytellers” read aloud to 4- and 5-year-olds each month and handed out 2,060 books worth $16,480. “Absolutely yes,” was the answer principal Sonia Vazquez got when she asked her teachers if the “Storytime at Judith’s Reading Room” program was worthwhile!
  • Fountain Hill Elementary School, Bethlehem, will launch its first-year “Storytime at Judith’s Reading Room” in 5 kindergarten classes, each month.
  • Storytellers will be COACHED to understand how our work supports the school’s reading curriculum with, for example, “reading comprehension tips of the month.”
  • General reading test score data will be made available to Judith’s Reading Room by both schools — you will know for sure the impact you have on these children.

Storytellers welcome throughout the school year, contact us NOW to reserve your spot as a coveted “Storyteller” and help make a difference in the lives of these children. Once a month for a few hours at your choice Donegan Elementary School or Fountain Hill Elementary. Please contact us for the exact dates (usually Mondays) and times.

There’s MORE to LOVE at “Storytime at Judith’s Reading Room!”

We simply can’t have too many Storytellers!!
