Judith’s Reading Room announced today its donation of a children’s library on board the USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH (CVN 77) aircraft carrier. This is the second library Judith’s Reading Room has donated to the presidential carrier. This donation of 436 children’s books valued at $4,927 will give the 4,500 Sailors more opportunities to stay connected with their children while serving overseas for long periods of time
From our first Boxing Party on April 5, 2010 to our 33rd Boxing Party on Monday night, BOXERS have packed and shipped a whopping 23,884 books to the troops valued at $258,658.
We are thrilled that Barnes & Noble at their store on Rt. 33 and Freemansburg Avenue has selected Judith’s Reading Room as their HOLIDAY BOOK DRIVE CHARITY which runs from November 1st to January 1st, 2013!
Judith’s Reading Room’s goal for this year’s Book Fair and Holiday Book Drive is to purchase new children’s books for the Sailors on board the USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH aircraft carrier. The library on board the carrier, which already contains 986 adult books sent from Judith’s Reading Room, is looking for us to establish a children’s corner where the Sailors can read aloud from new fabulous “read aloud” children’s books while video chatting with their loved ones at home.
Please support our troops by visiting Barnes & Noble in Easton on Rt. 33 and Freemansburg Avenue this holiday season and purchase a book for the library! There are several displays of selected children’s books or you can select your own. Instructions are on the display or ask any one of the helpful Barnes & Noble Associates!
