October 8, 2026 —Barnes & Noble-Wyomissing and Blandon-based Judith’s Reading Room are teaming up November 1 – December 15 to help fill “book deserts” in nearly a dozen low-income schools, libraries, book mobiles and day care centers.  Kids thirst for great books that too often their parents can’t afford.

For seven (7) consecutive years, Barnes & Noble has selected Judith’s Reading Room as its book drive beneficiary because the organization consistently demonstrates that it knows how to get the right books into the hands of the most needy.  Donations this year will support early literacy and reluctant reader initiatives as well as providing books for Lehigh Valley Hospital’s Hackerman-Patz House, a hospitality home for patients and their families.

“One of our favorite things about being booksellers at Barnes and Noble during the holidays is that we get to help out such a wonderful organization.  Judith’s Reading Room is doing so many great and important things to help get books in the hands of the people who need them the most.”

Barnes & Noble Wyomissing customers have always been generous in purchasing an extra book or two during the Holiday Book Drive.   “You may never meet the child who will open your book, but they will never forget the world you opened for them through your hand-picked book.  Help us spark a life-long love of reading by donating a children’s book this holiday,”  said Cathy Leiber, Co-founder, Judith’s Reading Room.

Judith’s Reading Room was founded in 2010 in the memory of Judith F. Krug, a distinguished librarian and cousin to the founders.  The organization has established 117 libraries in 28 countries and 11 US states filled with more than 136,000 books.
